Sears Craftsman Snow Blower Part

Sears Craftsman snow blowers are among the very best snow blower you can buy. I have had mine for over 25 years, used it every winter and have only recently had to arrange for repairs to my snow blower. Finding parts for my snow blower was pretty straight forward. I was able to go to a Sears parts store nearby and my local small engine repair shop for the rest. Usually if they do not have the item in stock, they can be ordered and delivered the next day.

Common Sears craftsman snow blower parts that everyone should pay attention to when they are performing their annual maintenance include - tires, changing the engine oil, spark plugs, clean carburetor, drive belt condition and bearing wear, as well as greasing the main shaft on the front augers. If you check these items regularly , or at least once per year chances are that your sears craftsman snow blower will last a lifetime.

Need less to say, after 25 years I had to change a few snow blower parts and I will talk about these in the following paragraphs. One comment before I discuss which parts I had to replace. If you plan on doing some or all of the work yourself, always make sure that the engine is off and the spark plug wire is disconnected to avoid any accidents. Also get to know your local small engine repair mechanic. As long as you purchase the parts from him, he will be happy to offer all kinds of advice to you regarding the repairs and how to complete some of the more trickier repairs.

Great Resources are available on line such as manuals and suggestions regarding how to do some of the more complex repairs. As we said earlier, talking to your local small engine repair mechanic is another excellent way. Routine maintenance includes changing the engine oil, inspecting the tires, belts and lubricating any drive shafts that your manual recommends.

I have had our craftsman snow blower for over 25 years and replaced the belts and the main bearings for the drive shaft and also the auger. I also had to repair one tire that went flat. All I needed to do in this case is place a new inner tube inside the tire and I did not even need to take the tire off the axle!

The belts are relatively easy to replace, a bit awkward, however if you follow the manual instructions, these snow blower parts can easily be replaced. The bearings take more time and energy. If you are uncomfortable doing this yourself , your local small engine mechanic can replace these parts for you, although you will have to pay more to transport your craftsman snow blower and also pay for the labor as well.

Always compare the cost of repairs to the cost of a new craftsman snow blower machine. Sometimes the cost of the craftsman snow blower parts plus labor make it prohibitive to complete the repairs vs. purchasing a new unit. Finally always store your craftsman snow blower inside to avoid long term weather damage.
